Services

Sunday 11am

Our service on Sunday is at 11am where we follow the beautiful liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer with music from a choir of professional singers accompanied by our organist. Each week the service is Choral Eucharist followed by refreshments and the opportunity to meet others if you wish to do so.

As you enter the church you will be welcomed by one of our greeters who will ask you if you are intending to stay for the service – many people come into the church for a time of quiet reflection or to look at the architecture and stained glass windows. The greeter will give you a hymn book, notice sheet and an easy-to-follow service booklet.

The service lasts around an hour and you are welcome to participate in as much or as little of it as you feel comfortable with.

Sunday 6pm

Every Sunday at 6pm we meet via Zoom for a service of Evening Prayer. The service uses liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer and it is helpful, but not obligatory, to have a copy in front of you to follow along.

For the Zoom meeting code to gain access please contact the office by 4pm on Sunday.

Wednesday 1.10pm

On Wednesday lunchtime we meet in the church for a short service of Holy Communion using liturgy from Common Worship. An oasis of calm in the middle of a busy week, this service includes times of quiet for your own thoughts and prayers.

The service lasts around 30 minutes with the intention being that it fits into a lunch hour.

Wednesday Evensong 5.30pm

A short, reflective, laid back service with outstanding music from the Imperial College Chamber Choir. It’s the perfect end to a busy day at work or university.

The service will last approximately 45 minutes and you are free to participate fully or to just sit back, soak in the atmosphere and let the words and music wash over you.

Christening/Baptism services

Your child is precious to you and precious to God. You want the very best for them, and so does God. You want them to make right choices in life, for themselves and for others.

A christening is just the beginning of this and so much more.

Over the years to come, it’s a journey you’ll share together with your child by:

  • Being there for your child to talk to about the bigger questions of life – questions about hope, faith and love.
  • Praying for your child through the ups and downs of their faith journey.
  • Showing them practically how to make those good choices in life.
  • Helping them to learn more about their Christian faith, through their church and in other ways.

So it’s a commitment to start as you mean to go on.

We ask you to do two things:

  • Come to our 11am Sunday service at least once. When your child is baptised they join the family of the church across the world as well as here at Holy Trinity so we would like you to join one of our regular times together. We also hope that you will like it enough to want to come back!
  • Meet with the vicar. This will be an informal time when you can think through what christening is about, look at some of the options that are available and talk through what will happen in the service. Your child is very welcome to join us if that makes it easier for you.

Once you have done these two things we will be happy to discuss at date for your child’s baptism.

Weddings

Congratulations! We are delighted that you want to get married and that you are looking at having your wedding with us as at Holy Trinity South Kensington.

You do have to have some connection with the church for us to be able to take your wedding. This might be because you live in our area (what we call our ‘parish) or it might be because you have a close connection with the church, for example you or your parents have lived in the parish at some point, or your parents or grandparents were married here. If none of these apply to you then you can make a connection and still get married here by worshipping with us regularly for at least six months. This is the same whatever your beliefs and whether you come regularly to church regularly or you have never been in one before.

If you have been married before (and your previous partner is still living) then we will need to talk this through with you first, though please don’t let this stop you from getting in touch with us.

Regretfully we are not allowed to take marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples in the Church of England.

If you would like to find out more about getting married in Holy Trinity then please complete the form on our contact page
